Link a branch church
How a mother church invites a branch, and how the branch chooses exactly which summaries to share — or shares nothing.
- Who can do this
- Inviting — a church that has branch linking switched on. Accepting — the branch's Senior Pastor or Church Admin.
A church with branches can link them in ChurchVex, so the mother church sees how each branch is doing — only if the branch agrees, and only the summaries it chooses to share.
For the mother church: invite a branch
Branch linking is switched on per church by the ChurchVex team. If your church has branches, ask us to turn it on. You’ll then see Branches in the menu.
- Go to Branches and choose Invite a branch.
- Search for the church by name. You can only invite churches in your own denomination.
- Optionally add a note explaining why you’re asking to link.
- Choose Send invitation.
Once the branch accepts, you’ll see the summaries it shares on the Branches page — for example active members, average attendance and upcoming events. You can view them, but never edit a branch’s records.
For the branch: accept and choose what to share
- Go to Settings → Branch sharing. The invitation is under Pending invitations.
- Tick what you want to share:
- Membership summary — headcount and growth trend, not individual member records.
- Attendance summary — attendance rates and trends, not individual check-ins.
- Finance summary — totals by category, never who gave what.
- Events calendar — your published upcoming events.
- Departments summary — department names and headcounts, not their member lists.
- Choose Accept and share, or Accept, sharing nothing — or Decline.
You can change what you share, or stop sharing, at any time from Active links, without asking the mother church. Past links are kept under Past links so you can see what was shared, and when.
